Infrastructure plays a key role in society, from transportation to energy. Real-time monitoring becomes increasingly important for decision making. This requires an interdisciplinary approach, bringing engineers who design infrastructure together with engineers and scientists who design instrumentation and analysis. This workshop brought together researchers interested in the physical and/or digital world for infrastructure, to establish where pockets of expertise exist across the Faculty, and to create critical mass.
The objective of the workshop was to lead to the development of collaborative research proposals; a competitive call will be announced for pump-priming. As such, the intended outcomes from the workshop were collaborative research ideas and proposals, whether for PhD projects or external research funding.
The event was supported by the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
Date: Friday 01 November 2019
Time: 13:30-16:15
Location:
Room 53/4025 (Mountbatten Seminar Room)
Building 53 (Mountbatten Building)
Highfield Campus
Southampton
SO17 1BJ
This event was open to staff in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS), who are keen to engage in new collaborations in this field. Capacity was limited, and registration mandatory.
